The 2025 James Dyson Award is open for entries and on the hunt for world-changing ideas from students across the globe. The international competition ran by Dyson’s philanthropic arm, the James Dyson Foundation, aims to encourage and inspire the next generation of engineers and designers by providing them with an opportunity to win prize money and gain global media exposure for their inventions. Please note, all ideas and projects are owned by students and recent graduates who enter.
The competition operates in 28 countries and regions and is open to current engineering and design students enrolled in a Canadian university or college, and those within four years of graduating. It is open to both undergraduate and graduate levels and is free to enter. The challenge is simple: design something that solves a problem.
